The lyrics from Lisa Loeb's song “Stay” are in my head.
You say I only hear what i want to.
So for some reason i decided to write this poem to certain songs. I wanted to write about something that has been weighing on my mind for quite sometime. I guess the best way to describe it is that the words come from a place inside me that i very rarely show in person. I am getting better at asserting myself and trying but the road isn't always that easy. As you readers know, i come here and air out my clean/dirty laundry and i feel better.........relieved, actually. I decided to ponder and write down somethings that are going on in my head. My blog is always a sacred place to me so i figured what a good place to share what i was thinking. I wrote it in poem form to the 2 songs noted. It's still a work in progress but it gets down the 'bones' of what i am feeling.
MY VERSION:
You say i only hear what i want to.
But really you do all the talking, you do.
You want me to keep in touch,
but it doesn't matter much.
You want me to call to find out the case,
i know the answer and i think it's just a waste.
You say i only do what i want to.
That's true, it's just what you do.
You say i don't care, and that's not true
You are the one who doesn't care what i do.
(change song to Natalie Imbruglia's “Torn”)
I watched you change throughout your life
Never seemed to pick up on the real strife
You couldn't be that friend that i adored
You don't seem to care what this friendship's for
I don't know you anymore
It's not like when we used to talk
It's like a blackboard without the chalk.
The conversation has run out,
I don't care what you bitch about.
(change song to Lisa Loeb's “Stay”)
It's supposed be like you were never gonna leave
Instead that idea is just one reprieve.
Say you're gonna call, but you never really do
Say you wanna talk, but it's only about you.
You said that i was naive and, i thought i was strong
I thought hey i can leave, i can leave
And it started me writing this song
I really miss you but i don't know what to say
I want to talk but i leave it just for days
I want to make it work but it's never gonna change
You think we're gettin' closer but we're gettin' more estranged
So that's what i have and that's what i feel. I just tried to write it like a song and it was pretty tricky. It makes me appreciate those who right their own songs and stuff it's really hard. Just had to get this off my chest. I guess the main part is that i never changed. Ok, i did change. I learned to control, discuss and manage my emotions better then i ever have. You were the one that did change. You changed into a person that only cares about them self, and won't listen to anyone else. I don't know what else to say or where to go from here.

it flows through my finger tips!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iEPTlhBmwRg&feature=feedf
So it's been a while since i've written an uplifting post. I have some theme music playing and i am just going to write till i can't anymore.
My head bops to the beat. A rhythmical up and down, slowly going through out my body. My fingers type like a gattling gun. Then the shoulders dip from side to side. If i didn't have 2 casts on i would crank the music loud and dance my little heart out. The theme for this little, happy outburst is MOVES LIKE JAGGER. Adam Levine croons to perfection and then there's the robust holler from Christina. The guitar chants to me at the beginning of the song, causing my air guitar to come out of nowhere. The flowing moving arms start to flail. The disco snaps fade in and out. The jersey shore fist pump smashes the air a little bit (i'm doing this with my good hand! Now i'm really into it bc i am watching the music video and it's even better. The sway of the hips. The flash dance type of scenario. AND LET'S FACE IT ADAM LEVINE AND HIS TATS ARE SEXY!!!!! The disco confetti flies and it truly is a party that everyone wants to be at. The only complaint i have is that the end of the music is pretty abrupt.
CHANGE THE TUNE
Something more mellow and chill starts to sooth my soul. Breath in, breath out. Take a minute and just let everything fade into the background. “You're the only thing i need to get by” gets sung and in a way i sort of agree. With who or what is a question left unanswered, it's not the answer that matters. It's the admission of the fact. Ideas start to run through my head. Times that i have been left by people that i thought would have stayed with me. Times that i have tried to leave things and i just couldn't. I'm in a better place and if i can reflect within the context of a song then fine, as long as at the end of that 3 mins or so i can let go.
CHANGE THE TUNE
Pounding on the piano chords. My foot starts to bounce along. The jazz bugles behind the beautiful song of the artist.
CHANGE THE SUBJECT
I started school on Wednesday of last week. It was the first night of class for my ECE Apprenticeship program. I think that my school has been my saving grace. With all the time that i have on my hands i have been productive and making notes. It keeps my brain active and it saves me having to rush at a later time to make them. The one part of my notes has gotten sort of scientific which i am not a big fan of. I really hope that is not a big part of this schooling bc when in highschool i hated science....and i still pretty much do. There's lots of theories and stuff and it's pretty interesting.
Listen to my theme song from the start once more and then back to notes! Nice break!

LAUGH OUT LOUD
Dear Reader,
So I was in a local book store looking for a writing exercise book that provided me with props to get me started on writing with new, strange, and fun ideas. Then the shopsy handed me this book, it's called, THIS DIARY WILL CHANGE YOUR LIFE 2009. There are little captions and sayings randomly blasted around the front and back cover and I thought this would be a great book to use for my blog. I don't plan to do the weekly exercises or anything but I do plan to use this book to entertain, enthral, and educate you! Upon opening this book the first page is red and has the following quote in the middle of it:
“To be completely free, one must become a slave to a set of laws” - Cicero
As thought provoking and discussion instigating that sentence is, in some forms, be it rare or common it rings true. After reading that a few times it just makes me want to use this book even more to highlight my blog and my adventures. Everyone needs some comedic relief in their life!
The first task is MAKE A NEW YEARS RESOLUTION THAT NO ONE IN HISTORY HAS EVER MADE BEFORE. This is interesting because they supply you with some suggestions:
-Bring a bonafide Nazi to justice
-Find the Grail but keep quiet about it
-Teach the world to sing
-Memorize Pi backwards
-Gain weight
-Find the lost city of Atlantis
-Learn to horsewhisper
-Defeat evil wherever it may surface
-Make 1, 879, 422 pounds, (british currency) exactly and no more
-Find a cure for vertigo
-Waste fewer words
-Get a job in drug dealing
-Discover a new black hole with the naked eye
-Watch less bad news on tv
-Train my pet to meditate with me
-Eat asparagus every day
-Resolve the Middle East Crisis on a postcard
-Remember more of my dreams
-Recycle other people's rubbish
-Master the AK-47
-Stop passive smoking
As I was typing that list down I came up with a response for each and every one of those suggestions. If it's humour you are looking for today you will get it. Enjoy. (These are in the same order as stated above but it's my version!)
-If you are going to bring a Nazi to justice, make it worth your while. Go for a few or some one big like Ernest Zundel
-Don't bother finding the Grail, no one wants to read something as old and dusty as that. Pick a new age interesting book.....how about the Twilight series by Stephanie Meyer, there's hunky guys to talk about and hot girls for the guys!
-Teach the world NOT to sing, avoid any ear piercing harmonies
-Anything with math, forget, except your count downs for birthdays, holidays, etc.
-Gain weight is an interesting one because at some point in the year everyone achieves this one!
-There's the hotel in the south that's called Atlantis and it practically is a city, well no, but has a lot of cool things that most regular cities don't have....the slide that is underwater, the biggest indoor fountain and a rockin' dance floor!
-I'm great at HorseYelling so I don't need to horsewhisper, my message is heard loud and clear!
-Defeating is fun when you are a super hero but you need to have the right spandex costume, liatards and gadgets first, once you invest in those then the crusade can begin
-I think that you should try to successfully make $1 for charity everyday, a good deed a day keeps the evil away! And..... it makes you feel good.
-Forget vertigo, find a cure for something common like IBS, yep that's right Irritable Bowel Syndrome
-Speak/Write fluently (Tough one for word Hogs!)
-A job in drug dealing does sound very appealing, but I don't think there are any tax breaks and legalization is a toughy
-The other day I did discover a new black hole with my naked eye, it was my dirty oven, Job=Clean dirty hole and make it pristine so that it hurts naked eye to look at. (Special tip, look around there's an asshole somewhere all the time)
-Allow only reality tv drama in your life, my personal fav....The Hills
-Forget training pets to meditate, if you can teach them to nap on command now that's something
-DO NOT eat asparagus every day, it gives you stinky pee
-Jack Nicholson said it perfectly in the movie Mars Attacks, “Can't we all just get along...” don't bother wasting a postcard, word conservation remember!
-I remember my dreams very well, but for those that forget invest in a dream journal, then a book that interprets what your means, then buy something else that interprets that or just forget the whole damn deal....WHO CARES! Live your life not your dreams!
-If you get into the recycling business that could be more profitable then the drug dealing and....hey hey hey.... it's legal!
-I think it's great that it is suggested that we learn how to use one of the most important and well known weapons in combat, next years ideas: RPG', grenades, machine guns. Etc.
-In the healthy sense of the word, stopping smoking is great but I've heard that being a quitter is not a fun thing either, maybe you can find a happy medium, switch the smoking to smoking pot and then you will be letting your drug dealing idea go up in flames, a positive use of its fruits!
I hope you enjoyed my variations on these few ideas. I enjoyed writing them. More will come soon you just have to wait for it!

Mish Mosh Monday
Dear Reader,
I miss writing to you greatly so I decided this morn that I would post you a little ditty. My mum is on holidays in Edmonton, but is currently in Jasper. My dad was a complete dick last night...no surprise there I guess. Because of that happening I have changed the thingy under my name on msn to “to be or not to be an asshole”.
Yes it's hamlet-esque but that's ok, Shakespeare wrote a ton of good stuff so why not remember him by a quote from one of his fab plays. As you can tell from the start of this post it is going to be a post with a bunch of mish mosh cause I am just going to pour my brain on to the computer screen for your pleasure. I'm not even going to put paragraphs or anything. Today is mish mosh monday.
BIGGER, FASTER, STRONGER is a documentary that I watched yesterday. It was a great movie because it brought light to how American's consistently depend on steriods to keep themselves big and muscle-y, like Arnold, Lou Ferrigno, Jose Conseco, Mark McGwire, Barry Bonds, Ben Johnson, Sly Stallone, and many other celebs that you would know. It was very informative because as serious as steriods is, it doesn't kill as many as the FDA, and other organizations say. It kills 3 people every year, while alcohol, hard, drugs, car accidents and other things kill thousands upon thousands of people. Very interesting and I totally thought the documentary host CHRISTOPHER BELL was hot and he was 1000000 times better then Morgan Spurlock (SuperSize Me). The weather last night was completely crumby too. There were thunder bolts and lightening crashes a lot and then came the buckets of rain. What a crappy night, it should have been predicted though because yesterday was very cold and yucky all day. The book I am currently reading is
THANKS FOR THE MEMORIES by Cecila Ahearn (wrote PS I LOVE YOU), it's a very interesting book. A woman ends up getting a blood transfusion when she loses her baby and the donor's blood has come with memories of his family and life and job. So not only is her mind filled with her own life's disasters, she has to deal with his too. She actually goes on a quest to find the donor that saved her life. Interesting concept. Haven't finished it yet but I'm more then ½ way through and it's good. In my downloading travels,
I happened to come across an album that was all burlesque music. I have listened to some of it and surprisingly, it is quite good. It's sort of like electronica but not quite, but I find it very interesting. Let's say that i am considering getting a pole for my apartment so that i can work out and get hot! (I know that's not really burlesque but ....). FYI=
It's monopoly days at mcyaks so to all you die-hards, try and participate the prizes are really good and I wish you well and I'm hoping I get some luck too so that I can fun during monopoly days! Yes, it's my most favourite time at McYaks ever!
Signing off,

NEXT.....
Dear Reader,

Sometimes when words escape you nothing says it better then song. My friend wrote a recent post where she only used song lyrics to describe what is going on in her life.
I find that song helps me through a lot. When I want to rant I listen to some hard ass stuff. When I want to find comfort and solace I listen to music that is mellow and makes me ponder about many things. When I am in a good mood and just want to boogie, then the dance hall and club stuff comes out.
Whether it be James Taylor, Nas, Nellie McKay, Sarah McLachlan or Hedley they all have a story to tell. Each story is different from the last and certainly the next. Although certain parts of the song may ring true with you and may instigate some wonderful ideas they are someone else's ideas. These ideas make you spark your own ideas to write, create, or be your own new enigma. The power of song is something that not one single person could describe and it be the same for everyone else.
NEXT....

I am trying to eat healthy. I was given the challenge of eating one live food a day. For the first 2 weeks it went really well. I was trying different foods: yogurt, stir frys, veggies, fruit. Then I had to do a week of healthy carbs. I found that when I was eating the live foods I was more energized, able to go longer without a nap, overall feeling better. When I went with my week of carbs I did slow down a little bit and felt I craved that nap more then the last 2 weeks. I fell off the wagon and haven't been eating the greatest but come Monday back on the healthy stuff I go. It did a lot for me and even helped me lose a bit of weight. Everyone is really proud of me and being supportive for me to continue on this kick. Thanks guys!
NEXT...

I have a job. I met an old boss on the golf course last week and he said to give him a call regarding work if I was looking. Well being jobless gets tiring, so I did give him a call. I wanted to start supporting myself more and have a better income. Needless to say I started work on October 2 and am doing well. It's part time for now but I hope to eventually graduate to full time.
NEXT...
I sit here watching my two cats, Abby and Zoe. With the weather change they have been acting a little fritzy and doing some odd things. The batting matches are more frequent and since it's been so cold the patio door has been closed, so no outside time. I think the kitties miss their outside time, but I am not willing to freeze myself out of my own apartment just to please two spoiled felines. Yes, they may be my babies and my company but it's not happening. If there are a few nice days left then ok, the patio door will be open and they can seek refuge on the furniture. My cats are funny. They never used to get along. Abby lived here first before Zoe, but when Zoe arrived she thought it was her palace and Abby was an intruder. Well the tables have turned an now they are great friends. They play, share meals, and even beds. I'm glad there isn't 2 pissy females aside from me in my house because that would make life all that much harder.
NEXT....

I must make a quick mention about the Hills. When it first started I was really thinking that this season was going to be the worst season to date. Man was I ever wrong. They just needed to get their engines rev'd so that they could let the drama fly. The last few shows have been totally fantastic and have been drama packed, therefore making it the bees knees. There's the usual Spencer and Heidi conflicts, Lo and Audrina are now getting along, Lauren thinks she wants to date someone she's already dated (hopefully it's Brody...fingers crossed), Stephanie has betrayed Lauren, Whitney is a star at People's Revolution and the new guy Doug, well lets just say he's trying to get his from Stephanie behind Lauren's back and has been CAUGHT! So let's go back to singing, “The hills are alive with the sound of bickering and yelling.....”

F..Me PUMPS!!!!

Dear Readers,
I am not really sure the purpose of this post but I really felt the urge to write to you. Here’s the song:
FUCK ME PUMPS by Amy Winehouse (Album = Frank)

When you walk in the bar
And you’re dressed like a star
Rocking your F-Me Pumps
And the men notice you
And ya Gucci bag crew
Can’t tell who’s he looking to
Cos you all look the same
Everyone knows ya name
And that’s your whole claim to fame
Never miss a night, cos your dream in life?
Is to be a footballer’s wife
You don’t like players
That’s what you say
But you really wouldn’t mind a millionaire
You don’t like balers
They don’t do nothing for ya
But you’d love a rich man 6’2 or taller
You’re more than a fan
Looking for a man
But you end up with one-night stands
He could be your whole life
If you got past one night
But that part never goes right
In the morning you’re vexed
He’s onto the next
And you didn’t even get no text
Don’t be too upset if they call you a sket
Cos like the news every day you get press

You can’t sit down right
Cos ya jeans are too tight
And you’re lucky it’s ladies night
With your big empty purse
Every week it gets worse
At least your breasts cost more than hers
So you did Miami cos you got there for free
But somehow you missed the plane
So you did too much E – met somebody
And spent the night getting caned
Without girls like you there’d be no fun
We’d go to the club and not see anyone
Without girls like you there’s no nightlife
All those men just go home to their wife
Don’t’ be mad at me cos ya pushing thirty
And your old tricks no longer work
You should’ve known from the jump
That you’ll always get dumped
So dust off your Fuck… Me… Pumps…

Now lets discuss what we have just read and for me heard.
I like this song it’s got a nice tune and it’s really quite cute in a weird sort of way. To me it describes the life of a star who is always trying to keep up with the fast moving times. There’s drama, travel, drugs, fashion, and false passion. But with all this it makes me come to this one thing…high heels aka FUCK ME PUMPS. Now I have never worn heels, I know that it would be a mistake so I just stick with flats and I am fairly tall so I maybe I don’t need them. That’s my idea, supposedly in the fashion world FUCK ME PUMPS are a necessary item within your wardrobe and not just one pair but multiple pairs. A quote comes to mind, I can’t give it proper recognition because I don’t remember where it came from but here it goes “High heels were designed by men so that it made it more difficult for women to run away from them.” This could be very true, it’s kinda funny when you think about it too. The mental picture makes me laugh a fair bit.
Some other things that men have probably invented and women have come to use:
- Razors (shaving ones legs can be a pain in the bum, and with nicks and stuff who would want to go on a date with a girl that looks like she has been ravaged by Cujo the rabid dog)
- Corsets (women use these to plump up what breasts they have, the point being you have to lace them up to the point of not being able to breathe, how can you have a good time if you are about to pass out from lack of oxygen)
- Waxing (this is like the razor but it’s pouring a hot substance on your areas you want to be hairless and then you put a piece of cloth and rip the hair out, yeah that sounds fun, just sign me up for torture 101)
- Hair Removing Lotions (they smell really bad, no matter how you put it they smell really bad!)
- Make Up (the purpose is to cake it on as thick as possible so that when going on a date the person really only gets to see your perfect face, no blemishes or anything, another item that makes a woman totally superficial)
- Really Large Jewellery (supposed to be used to accentuate your outfit or certain parts of you, but really lets face it some of the stuff is down right GAWDY and you look like you are wearing your mothers mothers mother, ya her jewellery)
- The BRA (supposed to be given support to breasts, sometimes heavily padded to make it appear like you have breasts…who’s idea was it to put wire in them??? That’s not very natural, but if you don’t wear one you are seen as being a floppy gorilla like woman.)
- The black cocktail dress (made to make a woman look beautiful but think of all the effort some women go through to get themselves into such an outfit. They wear corsets, control top pantyhose, granny panties with control top so that everything is held in place and non-movable)
- Control Top Pantyhose (yes I will admit that I have worn them but never again, and this I can promise you. Some of the most uncomfortable things to wear hence go bare legged without shaving your legs and you will really draw a crowd)
- Handcuffs (usually used in the moment of passion, sometimes women put them on but usually the men like to put them on women so they are held captive to anything man wants to do to them. NOTE – DO NOT USE IF YOU HAVE ISSUES WITH BEING MADE IMMOBILE!!!)
- The THONG/ G-STRING (these underwear to start off are really not comfortable but I have conformed and gotten used to wearing them. My question is who’s idea was it to stick a piece of fabric up a woman’s bum just so there weren’t any horrendous UNDERWEAR LINES, you might as well go commando because there’s hardly anything covering you up anyway, and it saves you having to wash these odd underwear shapes)
I have named a few good items that are just not fair that women have to wear. Wearing them is your choice totally, but if not the consequence is usually: unfriendly stares, impolite whispering, inappropriate gestures, etc. Why must we women conform to what men want. If I want to live in my pj’s I am going to damn well do it, so what if they are flannel or cotton. No flashy bits of lace at all, only sweet looking animals or cartoon characters with funny sayings. We as women have to like ourselves in the buff-ski before dressing up in these odd clothing items or using such strange products. When you like yourself in the buff then move up to the frumpy clothes. When you can pull them off then you can pull anything off!!!!!!! BE FREE WOMEN OF THE WORLD!!!!!
I am not really sure the purpose of this post but I really felt the urge to write to you. Here’s the song:
FUCK ME PUMPS by Amy Winehouse (Album = Frank)

When you walk in the bar
And you’re dressed like a star
Rocking your F-Me Pumps
And the men notice you
And ya Gucci bag crew
Can’t tell who’s he looking to
Cos you all look the same
Everyone knows ya name
And that’s your whole claim to fame
Never miss a night, cos your dream in life?
Is to be a footballer’s wife
You don’t like players
That’s what you say
But you really wouldn’t mind a millionaire
You don’t like balers
They don’t do nothing for ya
But you’d love a rich man 6’2 or taller
You’re more than a fan
Looking for a man
But you end up with one-night stands
He could be your whole life
If you got past one night
But that part never goes right
In the morning you’re vexed
He’s onto the next
And you didn’t even get no text
Don’t be too upset if they call you a sket
Cos like the news every day you get press

You can’t sit down right
Cos ya jeans are too tight
And you’re lucky it’s ladies night
With your big empty purse
Every week it gets worse
At least your breasts cost more than hers
So you did Miami cos you got there for free
But somehow you missed the plane
So you did too much E – met somebody
And spent the night getting caned
Without girls like you there’d be no fun
We’d go to the club and not see anyone
Without girls like you there’s no nightlife
All those men just go home to their wife
Don’t’ be mad at me cos ya pushing thirty
And your old tricks no longer work
You should’ve known from the jump
That you’ll always get dumped
So dust off your Fuck… Me… Pumps…

Now lets discuss what we have just read and for me heard.
I like this song it’s got a nice tune and it’s really quite cute in a weird sort of way. To me it describes the life of a star who is always trying to keep up with the fast moving times. There’s drama, travel, drugs, fashion, and false passion. But with all this it makes me come to this one thing…high heels aka FUCK ME PUMPS. Now I have never worn heels, I know that it would be a mistake so I just stick with flats and I am fairly tall so I maybe I don’t need them. That’s my idea, supposedly in the fashion world FUCK ME PUMPS are a necessary item within your wardrobe and not just one pair but multiple pairs. A quote comes to mind, I can’t give it proper recognition because I don’t remember where it came from but here it goes “High heels were designed by men so that it made it more difficult for women to run away from them.” This could be very true, it’s kinda funny when you think about it too. The mental picture makes me laugh a fair bit.
Some other things that men have probably invented and women have come to use:
- Razors (shaving ones legs can be a pain in the bum, and with nicks and stuff who would want to go on a date with a girl that looks like she has been ravaged by Cujo the rabid dog)
- Corsets (women use these to plump up what breasts they have, the point being you have to lace them up to the point of not being able to breathe, how can you have a good time if you are about to pass out from lack of oxygen)

Friend and Movie Review....Could it get much better...NOPE!
Dear Reader,
I have come to start and re-kindle a friendship with a friend that was very dear to me in highschool. We talk about anything and everything… you name it, we discuss it. This particular friend is doing really well right now. She has a loving hubby, a darling son, and a puppy to love. She is living the life that I thought I would be by this time. I know it sounds early but if the stars had come into alignment at the right time, my life would be the same as hers. I give KUDOS to this friend a lot because she is a girl and I normally don’t get along with girls, but she’s fabu, that’s the best way I can describe it. No cattiness, no bitching about guys, nothing like what regular girls do. In a way talking about her makes me reflect a lot on my life. Sure I have been through a lot of bad, but if finding a friend now is the good, then I think that it’s worth it.
I am currently listening to Amy Winehouse, her first album and the line goes:
“I CAN’T HELP YOU, IF YOU WON’T HELP YOURSELF”
The line is kinda fitting for my life. I try to devote a lot of time to helping friends but like the song says, how am I supposed to help them if I can’t help myself. I don’t give myself enough credit for coming through the crap that I have. Things I have never mentioned before: I HAVE CONQUERED A GAMBLING PROBLEM, AND DRINKING PROBLEM SUCCESSFULLY. I have been sober for over 3.5 years now, next February it will be 4 years. By continuing with my celibacy from alcohol and gambling I am helping my self

This is a pic of me and my dogs Phil and Jamie. They mean the world to me so I understand how devastating it could be to lose your best friend like Peggy in the movie below did.Movie Review – YEAR OF THE DOG
This is by far one of Molly Shannon’s best roles ever. The movie is not particularly outstanding but if you are a dog lover at heart you can understand what loss she experiences. She is an individual looking to find herself, possibly in a named category or be loved by man’s best friend. Her beloved Pencil is the most adorable dog and I couldn’t get over how much she loved this dog. Pencil is her one and only, and when she tries to warm up to a particular man, she gets shut down with the big R word, REJECTION. It’s a shame that she was rejected because she had a lot of love to give as well. She even changed her lifestyle because of some of the practices this gentleman introduced her to. I loved her character and how could you not. Everything she was trying to pursue, she just wanted to do good by it. Even after her replacement for Pencil bites her, she doesn’t look at the dog with malice or anything, she continues loving it. Awesome performance on Molly Shannon’s part, she should get a reward for it.
Tunes I’m Digging
- Amy Winehouse *new album – Back to Black* (especially the song Tears Dry on Their Own)
- Amy Winehosue *old album – Frank* (loving the whole album because it’s very jazzy and it’s what I am loving)
- Matt Dusk – *albums Two Shots and Back in Town* (jazz and he is really worth listening too and he’s Canadian
- Michael Buble – old and new album because it is big band but jazz and it’s soothing
- The Killers *Sam’s Town* (I love the intro and outro, they are excellent really sets up the mood. Songs – When You Were Young, For Reasons Unknown, Read My Mind, Bones)

Another Lovely Lunch with the Ladies

Pic- Sharon, Me and Tracey
Dear Reader, I had a fabulous day yesterday. I met with my ladies and we had a wonderful fun filled lunch. Tracey brought her mum, which was a pleasant surprise. It was Tracey’s birthday, and even though she instructed us not to bring gifts, Sharon and I did anyway. What kind of birthday doesn’t have presents? Lunch was really tasty, although the service was a little bit off, don’t worry my tip reflected that! We laughed, we talked, it was really a lot of fun.
My friend Erin said that her hubby Glen would love a pair of socks knitted for him, so me being the keener knitter that I am, I have looked up patterns and will eventually start them at some point. I think if I give them to him at Christmas or something that will be just fine. Anyone who reads this blog that knows Glenny cannot tell him so just SHHHHHH!
Tunes
I got the new JLo album the Spanish one or whatever language and it is fabu. It is really sensual and passionate, I love it!
I also got the new Timbaland cd, I’m not digging it as much. There’s only one song that he sings by himself and the other 16 songs feature someone famous. I think I will have to get into it.

Book Review + Music PlayList
Dear Reader, so I finished reading Dear John by Nicholas Sparks. I must say that the book is probably one of his most memorable out of his collection. It was almost like I was able to become one with the characters, the descriptions of everything were fabulous. John is a person that is enrolled in the army because the when he went to sign up the marine’s desk was “out to lunch” but the army desk was ready to recruit. He admits that he would have rather been a marine in the beginning in the book but I think later in the book he realizes how the army has affected his life and made him become the person that he is. On one of his leaves home he meets Savannah, a girl that will eventually change his life forever, while she is in his town building homes for humanity for the summer. John has an uncomfortable connection with his father and they don’t really talk much, which you later learn why in the book. The connection between Savannah and John is like love at first sight. As the relationship progresses he comes home on leave many times but it is very straining on the relationship with him being in the army and being in harms way all the time. The strain eventually causes them to break up but it does not make them never re-unite again. On a whim when John’s dad passes away he goes to Savannah’s house for what reason he is unsure but as you read he goes there to find comfort, sympathy and care. I don’t want to give any more of the book away but it was fabu. One of the best Nick Sparks books, aside from The Guardian. The characters are fabulous and very REAL. I was able to pull a quote from the book that really touched my heart and I hope you get the same thing from it that I did:
“I sold the collection because I finally understood what true love really meant. Tim had told me – and shown me – that love meant that you care for another person’s happiness more then your own, no matter how painful the choices you face might be.”
Music I am really enjoying right now:
The Garden State Sound Track (pretty much the whole thing but I like the Coldplay song, the Shins songs, Lebanese Blond by the Theivery Corporation and definitely Let Go by Frou Frou)
Anything by JLO, even back to her first album

I AM TRYING TO BE LESS CURVY IN CERTAIN AREAS STARTING MON FEB 12 2006
Dear reader, I have joined the huge amount of women that are part of the small exercise world known as CURVES. Although I have just found out that the one I go to, in Uxbridge of course, has gone up for sale. I am lucky that the cleaners are in port perry so that if the Uxbridge one goes down under I can go to the port one. It’s not that far, or I can go to the one in markham or stouffville, that’s the worst case scenario. I have gone 2 times so far and I am going today and tomorrow. That’s more then the recommended 3 times a week but I figure, I have nothing else to do and it only takes an hour of my time. I really like it so far, the price was right; I got a deal on top of deal. Regularly the signup fee is $199 but it was on for cheap $139, but I signed up on Monday of this week and the owner had just told one of the workers that since it’s the 7 year anniversary that’s how much the registration fee was, $7. So in total I signed up for about $56 instead of a lot more. I’m glad because now I have money to put else where. The monthly fee is $44 and I had to sign up for a year but I have to do something other then just lying in my bed waiting for my weight to just fall off me or for some miracle that my body will turn into a fast metabolic rate (YEAH RIGHT….both will never happen).
Movie Review – The Departed
So this movie was a PLAN B production, and it had a stellar cast yet again. The main cast consisted of Matt Damon (looks so hot in this flick), Jack Nicholson, Leo DiCaprio (he’s not stellar but he is famous), Martin Sheen, Alec Baldwin (he’s funny as usual), and Mark Wahlberg (oh yeah a marky marky sandwich….yummy). The story sort of jumps around in the set timeframe of the movie but eventually you figure out where the current scene belongs, but it is sort of easy to get lost in until you notice it is happening. The main idea of the movie is there is a rat in the FBI/Mass. State police and they want to find out who it is. Jack Nicholson plays the ‘bad guy’ which he is very charismatic but he also has that out there crazy part too. Quite often he is seen walking around with blood on his hands or arms or most noticeably on his clothing. I’m not going to give the movie away but there is a lot of guns and blood. Quite a few head shots are done and you can actually see the body and such when it’s done. A body even gets thrown off the roof of a building and it’s sort of graphic. It’s an alright movie but the acting really isn’t the greatest. There are a lot of cheesy accents and people trying to act too American, almost as if they were New Yorkers or something, I can’t really explain it. My advice is rent the movie and watch it but DON”T buy it, it’s not really a necessity to any collection, even if you collect Mark Wahlberg movies!
The movie I was wanting to get but am sort of unsure on is Half Nelson, it is supposed to be one of Ryan Gosling’s most important roles to date. They didn’t have it at the store but I’m sure they will eventually and I will get it then.
SoundCheck – What I am listening to as of late

Stuff and Movie Review x2
Tunes I am really digging:
Cassie Cd (really good dance cd, fav song = “Long Waty 2 Go” & “Ditto”)
Pink Cd – I’m Not Dead (I love the bonus track she sings with her dad)
Justin Timberlake Cd – FutureSex/LoveSound (awesome sound and Timbaland is in it)
Step Up Soundtrack – Lots of dance music and it’s awesome
All American Rejects Cd – Move Along (Love the song “It Ends Tonight”)
I’ve had a hectic week because there has been a lot of appointments that I had to attend. I was on time for all of them and I am super happy that I am nearing the end of the week so that I get a break from all the stress. It’s been making me really tired and I have been just sleeping all the time to recover. My last appointment is tomorrow but hopefully when I am done I can just forget about everything and have a good weekend.
Puzzle
So for Christmas my mum got me a puzzle and it’s a timber wolf but it’s an image created from the writing of some famous old guy. It’s been a bit of a challenge but it was a little disappointing when I realized that it was missing pieces. There have been quite a few times that I wanted to just put it away and forget about it but I am going to finish it as best I can. It’s taken me since Monday of this week to get this far but it’s really hard because the writing isn’t really clear on t he puzzle and where the joints are for pieces to join together the writing is difficult to read. So I wrote to the quality assurance people of the company because there was a slip in with the puzzle regarding this. I said that my puzzle was missing pieces and if I could take a pic and send it to them and then they could send me the necessary pieces it would be great. Well I got a response the very next day which was nice and the lady said that each puzzle is cut individually so my idea wouldn’t work she was willing to let me pick any puzzle from the website and tell her which one and she would send it to me free of charge. I was amazed by how well the situation was handled. I replied to the lady and commended her on the wonderful service that her company was willing to give me. I was expecting a ‘door slammed in my face’ kind of attitude but it was totally opposite. I will probably take a pic of the puzzle and post it for you just to see what it is like and what was missing. It’s an interesting puzzle just it’s too bad that those pieces are missing because it would be even more interesting.
I made a hair appointment finally so I will be getting rid of the this hair colour. I am going to tell the stylist that she can go as crazy as she likes because I won’t be working at a real job for a long time so I have time to play. This is really exciting for me because I love when I had fuchsia and pink coloured hair and dark purple hair. I love to play with colour. It’s like an outlet for creativity without me having to do the work and the stylists usually like it because they can do what they want and try new dying techniques on me Bonus!!!
Movie Review – GridIron Gang
This movie was different then most football movies. First of all it starred Dwayne “The ROCK” Johnson and it also had Xhibit (?). The movie involves a bunch of male juvenile delinquents and The Rock thinks that he is going to make a change to their life by teaching them how to play on a football team. The movie is based on a true story and they actually showed the person that the ROCK played (they don’t look anything alike that’s for sure) and him teaching the kids to be a team. It was interesting because the kids didn’t really have education or anything so when they are doing jumping jacks and can’t spell MUSTANGS it’s sort of funny and the ROCK and X get after them about that. There was also a bit of the gang life brought into the movie but I think it was brought in for drama purposes really because it did create some issues. Maybe it does really happen that way in these centres for delinquents. Lots of hard hitting though in the movie and good football action. The story…meh it was ok, the football part was better though.
Movie Review – The Guardian
This movie is another movie I think that Kevin Costner was amazing in. The other movie he was fabu in was UPSIDE OF ANGER. Ashton Kutcher finally played a serious role and he did it fabu as well. The story is about the training process of the US Coast Guard and what it’s actually like when they go on a mission. I could never do what they do. The ending is sad, I didn’t cry but it pulled at my emotions a bit. There are a few other stars in the movie but it isn’t overpopulated with them so it makes it a bit more real then other movies. The Coast Guards really truly have to be honoured for the job they do, they are no different then firemen, always willing to put themselves in harms way to save sometimes really silly people. The movie kinda reminds me of BACKDRAFT in the fact that Kurt Russell portrayed a true hero and he was a hero to the end and that’s how I felt about Kevin Costner. I am not giving the end away but I think everyone can predict what happens. It was a fabulous movie and I wish they would make more movies about people that truly have heroic jobs, it might give the public a greater appreciation for what they do.

Movie Review - Jackass 2 Unrated Version
Dear reader I just finished watching Jackass 2 the unrated version and it was completely hilarious. The stunts are more ‘outgoing’ and ‘painful’ then the last movie and the tv show. I find it interesting that Bam is afraid of snakes, to the point of crying. Most of the guys dread the stunts if they are going to inflict any large amount of pain. The one stunt I thought was silly was Johnny and Bam sticking their hand in a live bear trap. I found it silly because the teeth on those things are usually really sharp and they just look plain nasty. Steve-O definitely is always taking one for the team, it looked a little painful when he shoved the fish hook through his check but lucky for him Pontius was there to help get the hook through. I have to say that I find Wee Man adorable, Pontius has an amazing body (there’s no party boy in this one though), Johnny Knoxville is sexy and Bam with all the tattoos definitely is a hottie too. The part when they turned Eren into an Arab and used a combo of everyone’s pubic hair for his beard was also funny because later it was said that one of the guys that contributed the hair had crabs, what an ordeal that would be to have on your face. Even Eren saying that he kept getting beard hair (pubic hair) in his mouth makes me laugh. I liked the whole song and dance thing at the end, it was strange but it made me laugh so much. Really the entire movie made me laugh so much, I could hardly stop sometimes.
Cds that are good this week:
K-os -> Atlantis (love how it is very disco-esque)
Justin Timberlake -> FutureSex/LoveSounds (especially the last few songs on the album)
Beyonce -> B-day (the only song I really don’t like is “Get Me Bodied”)
an old cd
Jully Black -> This Is Me (the first half is the best half, 2nd isn’t so bad but the 1st is the bomb)
