Life's Tough, Wear a Helmet - Lauren Conrad

Heidi proudly sports her bling, although I wonder if she still thinks it should go on another finger?

Dear Reader,

I'm back again and as per usual I am going to give you a Hills re-cap. First of all I just want to say that Spencer and Heidi are totally rushing things. Even Heidi’s parents are not 100% cool with the issue. They, especially her mother, are concerned about what if Spencer and Heidi don’t work out, who will Heidi have as friends. Her mum wanted to get the full deal on what happened between Lauren and Heidi, a friendship of more then 2 years gone more then sour. Heidi was not going to budge, it was not the topic of the holiday back in Crested Butte, Colorado, that’s for sure. So here’s what went down point by point:

- Heidi goes with Spencer to get the RING sized, she questions whether it should go on a different finger and Spencer full out says it goes on the engagement finger
- Spencer and Heidi pack to go to Colorado and Spencer says “this is the most serious thing I have ever done”
- Audrina goes to the beach with J-Bobby and they have what would appear to be a really good time, lots of talking and laughing
- Spencer goes to a rims and tire shop and ‘surprises’ Brody with the fact that he will not be attending the BBQ that they host every year, he says that meeting Heidi’s parents are way more important
- Brody is not impressed and makes a comment that Spencer is always ditching his friends for Heidi and it’s not cool
- Lauren, Audrina and Lo go out to dinner and Lauren tells them they are invited to Brody’s BBQ, Audrina asks if J-Bobby can come and Lauren says Brody told her that she can bring whoever she wants
- Spencer and Heidi land off the plane and they make the drive to Heidi’s house, Spencer is in awe of how little the town is
- Spencer meets Heidi’s mum, Stepfather, sister Holli and brother Skye (questionable name for a boy I would say)
- The family is more then excited to see Heidi and Spencer
- The BBQ is a hit, everyone goes in the water, then they have a game of football where Lauren ends up tackling Brody
- Even though the tackle was in fun, Brody seriously believes that something in his hand is broken, he goes to the hospital and ends up coming back with a cast all the way up to his elbow, and as a trophy he even has the x-rays to prove it
- Spencer has a little talk with Heidi’s dad in private and he mentions what will Heidi do if there is no more relationship all her friends are gone
- While Spencer has the talk, Heidi gets the same thing from her mum, which she really doesn’t like and ends the conversation very quickly
- Lauren and Brody have some chat time together, Lauren gives his cast a kiss and they discuss what losing a friend is like although Brody has not lost Spencer as a friend
- J-Bobby avoids Audrina all afternoon and starts hitting on other girls
- Spencer goes to dinner with Heidi and her parents at the family run restaurant they own in Crested Butte and when Heidi is in the washroom Spencer gets asked what happened and he gets all dramatic and says that Lauren wanted to have Heidi all to herself and blah blah blah, when Heidi comes back she says ‘Why are we talking about Lauren?” and all convo is brought to a halt
- Towards the end Lauren and Audrina have a real reminiscing time, Lauren breaks down a little because she finds that losing a friend is still really hard to deal with
- When Lauren goes in to get her and Audrina more drinks she finds Audrina’s helmet on the coffee table, she takes it out to Audrina and Audrina proceeds to break down saying that she is done with J-Bobby, she can’t deal with these kinds of actions
- Lauren has the helmet on her head and makes this quote (which I am going to make famous) “Life’s tough, wear a helmet”

Now lets converse a little about what went on in the episode. I think it was appropriate that Spencer and Heidi go to meet her parents but being all “We’re getting married asap” was not the right approach. Spencer and Heidi haven’t been together long enough to realize how bad each other’s shit stinks! I think that Spencer was a little controlling when he said the ring had to go on the engagement finger though. Maybe a promise ring would be the best way to start out then when you have been together for a few YEARS, step up for the engagement ring. Heidi’s avoidance of the issue with Lauren is so telling that she is still bothered by what went down. She should deal with it or stoke it because acting like nothing happened is silly, when we all know what happened. J-Bobby = JERK HEAD and that’s all I am going to say about that. Ok maybe a little more, Audrina should have realized that if he will leave her in Vegas, he will definitely leave her when he’s close to home! I think that Lauren and Brody will get close again but not like they were, things have changed and they view each other a lot differently. I’m also going to say that Brody’s choice of 80’s style tank top for the beach was not the greatest, and Geez get a haircut it’s not like you can’t afford it! I think there will be more to come in the Lauren and Brody friendship, not sure where it will take them but we’ll see. Spencer will definitely dig his heals in and make things horrible though, seems to be a pattern with him. He likes the all or nothing scenario, makes you wonder how he got popular! This was not one of the greatest episodes but there was a lot of bonding with Lauren which is good, she needs that after all she’s gone through. Always remember ladies and gents:
